Socio-Economic characteristics:

The youth club is located in the heart of the Kaplan neighbourhood, which is characterized by low-middle income families as well as a high concentration of immigrants. In addition, the club services the other easterly neighbourhoods of Kfar Saba whose socio-economic makeup is heterogeneous.

Programs and projects:

Learning center: Tutoring in various subjects is provided one-on-one by certified teachers for a nominal fee. Assistance is also given with homework, preparation for 1st Grade, etc. Access to computers is well used in this centre

Madatzim (Young leadership):

Social activities with an emphasis on installing social values for neighborhood children (1st – 6th grade) are supervised by young counselors who have completed a year long Young Urban Leadership Course.

Community Theatre:

Youth in 7th -8th grade acquire performing and stage tools and together they put on a production with original material.

Community events:

Daytrips, parties, summer camps and special events for families to celebrate the Jewish holidays.

Extra-mural activities/courses:

Gymnastics, martial arts, exercise classes for women, zumba, cooking courses, art, drama and dance classes. The Denny Govendir Auditorium was named in memory of WIZO New South Wales long serving Executive Director.
